Hrithik Roshan turned 40 on Friday, resolute to put behind him the turmoil his personal life has seen over the past year.
Unlike what is normally expected from Bollywood stars, Hrithik did not plan a party at a city five- star. Instead, far from the prying media, the superstar took off on a speedboat ride from Gateway of India with sons Hrehaan and Hridhaan besides few from the family and friends.
The actor has lately been in the headlines for news happy and sad. His new film Krrish 3 did blockbuster business at the box- office after opening in Diwali but the good news turned sour for Hrithik fans when he officially announced a split from wife Sussanne a few weeks ago.
Speeding off into the deep blue sea with his kids looked like the perfect formula for joy, and Hrithik looked happy indeed. The actor looked cheerful as he spent some quality time with his family at the bay. Among select guests spotted on the ride were Sussanne's brother Zayed Khan and sister Farah Khan Ali, who were present with their kids at the boat party.
The ride was followed by a pizza snack at the bay. Although Hrithik has maintained a low profile after his separation from Sussanne, his fans poured in celebratory wishes on social networking sites on his special day. The actor being overwhelmed by the support his four million- odd followers showed on a Twitter post.
" Your love made me feel special today... thank you beautiful people for all your words... make your story the greatest no matter what! Love!! ( sic)," tweeted Hrithik to his fans.
Last year, Sussanne had hosted a surprise yatch party for Hrithik on his birthday that was attended by several among Bollywood's top lot. Also in the previous years, Hrithik always made it a point to welcome the media and cut a cake with them in his building compound. No such arrangement was made this year.
On his professional front, Hrithik Roshan is currently busy filming Bang Bang opposite Katrina Kaif. The film is slated for a Gandhi Jayanti release.
