Kochi: The Kerala High Court has not directed to remove Vigilance director Jacob Thomas from the post. The Court had observed that the Vigilance has shown action of excesses over the government decisions. The HC said it was only questioning why the government was not regulating the VACB. The HC observed that media reports on the matter was fabricated and asked on what basis the media went about with the reports. The court had recently asked why the government was not removing the official and how it could go forward with him. This does not mean the Vigilance chief must be removed. The court came out with this observation during hearing of a case regarding the budget announcements. The HC had only meant to regulate the Vigilance and the discussions based on the court’s observation were false. The media reports too was based on these false assumptions, the court said. The court said this could not be accepted. The court flayed the wrong reporting of news and said it could lead to contempt of court. It also observed that the court knows how to hear a case and give verdict.
