Youth of the country should be imparted education and skill training so that they could grab the opportunities the 21st century offered, Minister of State for Human Resource Development Shashi Tharoor Saturday said.
The country had a youthful society that could be dynamic productive working age population at a time when the rest of the world is ageing, he said speaking on 'Global opportunities and modern education' at an event here.
'We need to educate the young in extremely significant ways to enable them to seize the opportunities that the 21st century provides,' he said.
Problems like terror and Naxalism thrive when people were not educated, he said at the 29th Dr P K Abdul Ghafoor memorial oration and 30th Annual Educational Development Fortnight, organised by Muslim Education Society (MES).
