United Democratic Front's candidate in the capital, Shashi Tharoor has made it clear that he will end his political career if his alleged involvement in the IPL scam is proved.

Tharoor spoke about the IPL scam and the row over the death of his wife Sunanda Pushkar during Manorama News' 'Kodippada' poll programme.

Tharoor said that he had met Pakistani journalist Mehr Tarar just twice and he had cleared Sunanda's misunderstanding about the relationship between him and Mehr.

Former IPL commissioner Lalit Modi had said in 2010 that he was asked by an influential Union Minister not to get into details of Sunanda, who was given a sweat equity of approximately 4.5 per cent of total equity (estimated by to be worth Rs 70 crore) in IPL team, Kochi Tuskers Kerala.
