Pakistan's Hindu community today celebrated Diwali with religious zeal and fervour.

Earthen lamps were lit at houses, special prayers held at temples, sweets distributed and fireworks also exhibited.

Balmiki Hindus in Bahawalpur and Bheel and Mangwal Hindu communities in different villages of the great desert of Cholistan also celebrated the festival with gaiety.

President Mamnoon Hussain said the government is committed to make every possible effort for uplift and welfare of the minorities in the country.
