Ever since Shalu Menon's name cropped up in the solar scam case, speculations were rife as to whether the controversy will spell the end of her career and land her behind bars. Shalu, out on bail, revealed her immediate future plans in an exclusive interview to Manorama Online.

"I have decided to become active in classical dance. I am conducting classes on weekends in all the eight schools that I am running. No classes were abandoned even during my absence. After getting bail in the solar scam case I have devoted my time to the dance classes. The students in the schools will be staging their debut shows from December onwards," said Shalu.

Around thousand students are enrolled in Bharatanatyam, Mohiniyattam, Kuchipudi, vocal and instrumental music courses in the eight schools.

"I am planning to concentrate on classical dance and stay away from serials and cinema for the time being," Shalu said.

Shalu was quick to add that she would be expecting the same acceptance and encouragement the audience had been giving her until now.
