Inspector-General of Police Tomin J Thachankary has sent a letter to Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy requesting a probe against the Director General of Police (DGP) and Chief Secretary.
Thachankary said the DGP's advice to the Chief Secretary to discharge him of police service is unlawful. He said the DGP's advice is against the rules. Thachankary also stated that the contents of the letter sent to the Chief Secretary are wrong.
In his letter to the CM, he demanded government should investigate the DGP's phone calls. He also alleged conspiracy regarding leaking the letter to the media.
Thachankary further said the conspiracy was to block his promotion as an Additional Director General of Police. They have now succeeded in this, he wrote.
The letter ends with a request to initiate a probe against high ranked officials and checking their phone calls.
