Opposition leader V S Achuthanandan stated that the aim of the Secretariat siege starting from Monday was not to topple the UDF Government, but to make sure that Chief Minister Oommen Chandy quit his post and faced judicial investigation in the solar scam.

“Chandy's argument that there is no evidence against him is false. Even the court criticised the way the government handled the case. Chandy by asking for further evidence has proved how thick-skinned he's become,” said VS here on Sunday while replying to the 13 points raised by the CM in a press release issued on Saturday.

Meanwhile, VS alleged that the government was trying to create trouble in the Secretariat march and ensure that the protest turns violent.

The Marxist veteran added that Chandy has only A Group's support and the rest of the Congress workers and UDF allies have deserted him.
