BJP State General Secretary, K Surendran, has said that the original statement of Saritha S Nair, one of the main accused in the solar scam, was manipulated.

Surendran, who said that he was speaking on the basis of an RTI reply given by the Pathanamthitta Jail Superintendent, said that Saritha had given her lawyer a 21-page document while she was in jail. The reply from the Superintendent also said that a copy of the statement was not preserved by the jail authorities.  

The report received by the court was a three-page document.

Surendran alleged that the original 21-page document had mentioned names of central and state ministers and that both Saritha as well as her lawyer, Fenny Balakrishnan were offered money by Congress leaders to manipulate the statement.

Fenny Balakrishnan had also said that he had received a 21-page document from Saritha, which he later destroyed. Surendran said that Fenny had to divulge why he destroyed the document.
