Irrfan Khan sent shockwaves in the industry when he announced that he has been suffering from a 'rare disease.' The actor took to Twitter to share this news and wrote, "Sometimes you wake up with a jolt with life-shaking you up. The last fifteen days, my life has been a suspense story. Little had I known that my search for rare stories would make me find a rare disease. I have never given up and have always fought for my choices and always will." ''My family and friends are with me and we are working it out the best way possible. In trying times, please don't speculate as I will myself share with you my story within a week - ten days, when the further investigations come with a conclusive diagnosis. Till then, wish the best for me," added the actor. Now, as per reports, the actor will head to the US for treatment. A source told a leading daily, "Irrfan was the most suited actor for the story of this film. There are bleak chances of the film being revived. We have been told that Irrfan will be heading to America for health treatment."

As soon as the news came in, many Bollywood celebrities and fans wished him for his speedy recovery.

Irrfan's spokesperson recently said, "Please do bear with us during this time as we request everyone verify any facts and information. We would truly appreciate, that if clarifications are needed, they are routed through us. At this point of time, this is all the information we have, and we promise to keep an update as we have clarity."

Abhinay Deo, director of Khan's upcoming film Blackmail also emphasized that it was time to stand by the actor's side. ''I read his message on Twitter and it was shocking to find about his health. He never showed any signs of illness while we were shooting for Blackmail, nor did he mention anything about it. I am sure the doctors are doing their best and providing necessary treatment. I haven't called him because he and his family are taking care of the situation, and during such a time, they need their privacy,'' Deo had said.
