Tata Motors-owned carmaker Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) has launched an all-new premium sports SUV Range Rover Sport in the domestic market in both diesel and petrol variants with a price tag of Rs. 1.1 crore to Rs. 1.65 crore.

The new Range Rover Sport delivers the brand's high on-road dynamics together with class-leading Land Rover's all-terrain capability, Rohit Suri, vice president of Jaguar & Land Rover India, said in a statement late on Thursday.

The new model sports a 3-litre diesel engine, while the petrol version comes with a 5-litre engine.

While the 5-litre petrol model is priced at Rs. 1.66 core, the 3-litre diesel model sports a price tag of Rs. 1.1 crore, ex-showroom Mumbai, the company said.

"The new Range Rover Sport is a premium SUV with greater heights in design, technology, driving dynamics and interior luxury. The engine with superior technology, provides better fuel efficiencies," Mr Suri said.

It is the first vehicle in its segment with lightweight aluminium construction with its platform being 39 per cent lighter than its predecessor, the company added.
