Kerala High Court on Friday criticised the Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau for taking the court order lightly regarding the questioning of Salim Raj in the land grab cases.

The court also asked the state to find out who were the police officials deployed in Alappuzha  region during 2005,  who were allegedly involved in a crime committed by Saritha S. Nair and Biju Radhakrishnan.

Justice Harun ul Rashid passed the order on a plea alleging another fraud committed by the duo. T. R. Prakash of Alappuzha submitted that in January 2005, Biju Radhakrishnan and Saritha  cheated him of Rs 41 lakh by offering largescale scrap.

"Biju acted like a reputed and high- profile businessman and convinced me that he was having a scrap order for `1.5 lakh metric tonnes and that he had been given Rs 3 crore  as advance," the petitioner said.

The court observed that it was the duty of the government and police to find out the offender. The police should examine who were the police officials  who worked in  Alappuzha region at the time of filing the refer report in the cheating case.

Though a complaint was filed before the Chief Minister in 2005,  no action was taken. The then DYSP and  CI  of Alappuzha and  SI of Alappuzha north police connived with the accused and shared the cheated money, he alleged
