After a metropolitan magistrate in Ahmedabad gave Narendra Modi clean chit in 2002 Gulbarg society case by rejecting Zakia Jafri's plea against SIT's clean chit, the BJP Prime Ministerial candidate sent out a three word tweet in Hindi: Satyamev Jayate, along with English translation: Truth Alone Triumphs.
On Thursday while his government completed first year of the third term, Gujarat Chief Minister Modi was away in Goa to attend wedding ceremony of his counterpart Manohar Parikar's son when the verdict was delivered.
In 2011, after the Supreme Court had refused to intervene in the Gujarat riot cases, Modi has said on micro blogging site : "God is great!". This time too, the tweet that came couple of hours after the verdict had mentioned no references. Following SC clean chit to Modi, he had then announced Sadbhavna Mission, where in he observed fast, by going to all the district places in Gujarat, to send out message of harmony and brotherhood.
Meanwhile, his government hailed the verdict as 'an answer to 10 years long Congress sponsored propaganda against Gujarat Chief Minister and BJP prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi and his other colleagues from the ministry'.
The Modi government spokesperson and finance minister Nitin Patel soon after verdict said, "The verdict has silenced so called secular forces''. When Modi's campaign for forthcoming Lok Sabha is on in full swing, Patel added, "Court's verdict has now put every false allegations against Modi and his government to rest''.
"This is a happy moment for Gujarat. Various false allegations were levelled against the Modi government in post-Godhra riots. They were done by the Congress by putting forward others. The SC had give clean chit...the SIT had given clean chit.... and now court has given clean chit. All these just goes to prove that the Modi government had taken all the necessary steps to maintain security and peace then also and now also'', Patel added.
