Special Additional Sessions Court has found 12 accused, including three cpm local leaders guilty in the case related to the murder of T P Chandrasekharan, who was killed on May 4, 2012 at Vallikkad near Vadakara.Those found guilty include the seven-member gang that assaulted Chandrasekharan and CPM Panur area committee member P K Kunhananadan. The Judge R Narayana Pisharady, however, acquitted CPM district secretariat member P Mohanan, who was accused of criminal conspiracy and K Dhananjayan, CPM area secretary who was charged of harbouring the accused.
Chandrasekharan, a local leader of the CPM in the Onchiyam area near Vadakara, had left the party to form a rival outfit the Revolutionary Marxist Party (RMP) in 2009. The new organisation had posed a serious challenge to the CPM in certain areas in Vadakara. The prosecution case was that the RMP leader was murdered at the instance of the CPM.
