Lashing out at the State and Central governments, CPM state secretary Pinarayi Vijayan alleged on Monday that the country is under a wave of corruption.
“Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy are under the shadow of allegations. Policies of both Centre and State governments are supporting corrupt people,” alleged the Pinarayi, while inaugurating the secretariat siege organised by the pro-CPM Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) in here.
The DYFI started the state-wide demonstration to protest against corruption, price rise and denial of justice by the authorities.
“Chandy is the spearhead when it comes to corruption. The Chief Minister has a fair share of involvement in a lot of things that shouldn’t have happened in the state. The UDF government in the state has stooped to the levels where it just does every thing that is told by the Central Government. It is the people of Kerala who are suffering from this. The previous LDF government never accepted any of the wrong policies pressed on by the Central Government,” added Pinarayi.
“The UDF government has destroyed the public distribution system in the state as Congress policies are pro-corporate. Deserved people are being denied jobs opportunities here. The UDF-led government is cheating job seekers and youngsters with their policies which delay or stop appointments,” he added.
The senior Left leader also slammed the Chief Minister's Mass Contact Programme, which received wide acceptance and appreciation. “Common people are being denied justice in the Mass Contact Programme. The claims put forth by the Chief Minister regarding the programme and its success are totally wrong.”
